Philanthropy

Sigma Nu strives to serve both the university and local Morgantown community. Each year, the fraternity hosts the newly inaugurated “Dingers for DeMaske” charity softball tournament. This tournament is named in honor of the former Gamma Pi brother Jordan DeMaske, who passed away after a difficult battle with cancer. Despite facing incredible challenges from the disease he was battling, DeMaske never let it affect his spirit or his effect on others. DeMaske constantly lived as an inspiration to the fraternity, and it is because of his determination that led to the creation of this event. The funds raised from this tournament are put towards a scholarship fund named in his honor at West Virginia University.
